Be the candle in the dark stadium.
What does this mean and how does it apply to you as a volunteer and the oftentimes thankless work you accomplish?
Picture yourself standing in the middle of a vast stadium. Every seat is empty. The field is swallowed in pitch darkness. It feels overwhelming — until one small flame is lit. Just one candle. Suddenly, the darkness doesn’t seem quite so heavy.
That’s what you are: a single candle in a dark stadium.
You may feel small, but your light cuts through the shadows. Others see it. Others are encouraged by it. And before long, one candle becomes two, then ten, then a hundred — until the stadium is glowing.
As we approach 2026, some have found comfort in the new administration and have openly said they feel as though they can breathe for a moment. While, yes, we encourage resting, we also cannot lose sight that we are in a pivotal moment to make meaningful, long-term changes for liberty.
Our children deserve it. And our children’s children after them.
Whether you get involved in voter rolls, poll working, election observing, legislation, or even building your own local team, be the candle.
I encourage you to make a post on your social media this week. It doesn’t matter if you have 10 friends or followers, or 10,000. When you ignite your flame, watch how many around you will light up! Let your followers know how you are currently involved, or how you plan on getting more involved in time for the 2026 midterms.
Never underestimate the power of your vigilance, your prayers, your steady stand for truth. You are the candle, and your light makes all the difference.
