True the Vote Releases Scan. Check. Protect., A Simple Tool For Citizens to Protect Against Voter Fraud

HOUSTON, Texas—True the Vote (TTV), the nation’s leading voters' rights organization, has released Scan. Check. Protect., a simple tool for citizens to check their personal voting information to protect against fraud.

Despite what the mainstream media proclaims, our elections remain susceptible to fraud and corruption. For instance, more than 35 million Americans move every year and sometimes the registration follows. But often it does not and it keeps the old record active at an address that's been left behind. This creates ripe conditions for nefarious actors to harvest these records and cast fraudulent votes without oversight. Furthermore, confirmation notices are supposed to be mailed when a record gets flagged, such as same-day registration, a challenge, or inactivity. Between 2022 and 2024, about 70% of these notices were not returned by voters. Only 10% of these registrations were removed, leaving the rest to be harvested. Additionally, one in five people will have their identity stolen in their lifetime, along with their voter registration. No one tells you when it's used, and unless you check, voters will never know.

In spite of the valiant efforts from the Administration, which have been blocked by the courts, and the House passage of the SAVE Act, our elections remain exposed to fraud and manipulation. And since many state governments refuse to intervene and address the problem, it is up to citizens to ensure their voter registration is correct. 

Scan. Check. Protect.

Citizens can use the tool to confirm their registration is correct. After entering a few details, such as their birthdate and other identifying information, users can see where they're registered to vote, whether they're registered anywhere besides their current residence, their voting history, and whether anyone else is registered at their address.

By taking five minutes to check their information, citizens can confirm their records are accurate or report inconsistencies to the proper authorities. Checking before the midterm elections, and again afterward, documents the effort to restore the constitutional right to vote and strengthens the nationwide movement for fair and secure elections.

"Citizens are rightly concerned about the security of this upcoming election," said True the Vote founder Catherine Engelbrecht. "By using Scan. Check. Protect. and documenting any discrepancies or inaccuracies in our voting records before and after the midterms, we'll build an exhaustive catalog of citizen complaints our government can't ignore."

Engelbrecht added: "This isn't a partisan issue; it's an American issue."

Testimony of Voter Registration Inaccuracy

The Scan. Check. Protect. app recently soft-launched and has generated more than 1,000 lookups, with some startling findings. Users are encouraged to leave comments in the app after searching their records, and some reported disturbing inconsistencies:

• A Michigan resident: “[Redacted] no longer lives here. We bought the house from her in 2025. I have requested she be removed and had not been. They sent her a ballot last primary election. I told the two but she is still showing up.”
• A Wisconsin resident: “My past voter history is incorrect, I have only voted absentee ONCE in my life and it was 2020. Also, I have 3 voter ID numbers, two inactive and one active.”
• An Arkansas resident: “I just noticed a vote that I did not cast!”
• A Michigan resident: “[Redacted] passed away January 2025. He is still registered to vote.”
• A Minnesota resident: “The third party info shows me as having voted in democrat primaries. I have never voted in a Democrat primary. I became a citizen [in 2006] and was shown as having voted in democratic primaries from 2008 to 2020. I never did that.”
• A New Mexico resident: “My daughter, [redacted], moved two years ago for work to Texas and notified the state that she was moving and to take her off the voter roll.  Your report shows her as still an active voter in New Mexico, when she has since been voting in Texas, not New Mexico.”
