Volunteers and the New Election Integrity EO

Hi, Friend!

I generally try to keep these newsletters short and to the point, but this is too exciting…so hang in there with me. Let me begin by saying that you did more than you might realize in this tremendous victory for election integrity.

If you haven’t seen it yet, please check out President Trump’s new Executive Order: Preserving and Protecting the Integrity of American Elections. This is great news for the pro-liberty community!

For years, volunteers have worked alongside TTV in what seemed like an impossible task: securing our elections. Is the fight over? No…but we are so much closer than we ever have been.

Your voices, your hard work, turning your frustrations into action, and your determination to protect future generations have been fruitful. If not for everyday citizens getting involved at every level and becoming the not-so-silent majority, we simply would not be able to celebrate this monumental win for liberty - more likely because it would not even exist.

Let’s begin with a little background to really identify why this EO is such a massive win for safeguarding our elections before we get into why this is important for all volunteers to know.

Time to dig into the huge role you’ve played alongside us to date:

  • In May 2022, 2000 Mules was released. Despite the fake news “hits”, the censorship, and the constant headlines claiming it had been debunked, this movie has been viewed approximately 40 million times worldwide. While we still cannot comment much on this due to ongoing litigation, your voices amplified the truth behind 2000 Mules and even more continues to surface.
  • In April 2023, Konnech dropped their defamation lawsuit against TTV, paving a path for us to launch a petition in June of 2023 for the removal of Konnech from county election systems and demanding that our elections be free of domestic and foreign election interference, while drawing international attention to the fact that our US elections - despite what corporate media had been reporting - have been compromised. (Note: this petition is no longer active).
  • In January 2024, True the Vote defeated Fair Fight, Stacy Abrams, Marc Elias, and the Biden Department of Justice in a landmark election case in Georgia Federal Court, setting a massive precedent for citizens to be able to continue our lawful right to challenge ineligible voter records.
  • Later in January, we launched Scan. Check. Protect., a one-stop spot to check your own voter record to ensure you were no longer registered on old records in prior states of residency. By July, over 20,000 volunteers were engaged in this effort - removing their own names before elections - and the numbers increase every day!
  • In March 2024, following the Fair Fight vs TTV case, we were finally able to relaunch IV3, where thousands of volunteers came together and challenged over one million ineligible records up until the various states’ cutoff dates. (We are excited that IV3 will return in a couple of weeks!)
  • In April 2024, TTV launched The 611 Project, citing Title 18 of the US Code regarding Voting by Aliens, Section 611 Amendment C, which defines that citizenship is a state of mind. We go into great detail in the full handbook, but our call-to-action focused on volunteers reaching out to their elected officials to advocate for states to have DHS-level access in an effort to really verify which voter records were ineligible.
  • Post elections in November 2024, we published The Way Forward, a ten-point election reform plan (that we’ll dig into a little more next week!)
  • On March 5th of this year, TTV put out an Appeal to DOGE to audit the voter rolls in order to properly verify information that states do not have access to. On March 25th, it was announced that DOGE would do just that.

So what does this EO say and what does this mean for volunteers and all the work you have done relating to the various TTV initiatives mentioned above?

Here are some key takeaways, highlighting the aforementioned and comparing them to this EO:

  • Domestic and foreign interference:Part of the EO’s intro opens strongly in support of what we have all been saying: “Several Federal laws, including 18 U.S.C. 1015 and 611, prohibit foreign nationals from registering to vote or voting in Federal Elections. Yet States fail adequately to vet voters’ citizenship, and, in recent years, the Department of Justice has failed to prioritize and devote sufficient resources for enforcement of these provisions.” Section 6 of the EO states that the Attorney General and the Secretary of Homeland Security must enforce 42 U.S.C. 5195c (the law that addresses critical infrastructure protection), defining our elections as a “critical infrastructure”. As a whole, this section implements measures to secure our election systems and equipment, safeguard against malware or “unauthorized intrusions”, and prevent foreign citizens from being able to access any “relevant materials” pertaining to Federal elections. In addition to Sec. 6, Sec. 8 of the EO cites 52 U.S.C. 30121 (the law prohibiting foreign nationals from contributing or donating to US elections) and orders the Attorney General to consult with the Secretary of the Treasury to ensure this law is enforced, further protecting our elections from foreign individuals or entities. For more information on foreign interference and the battle that took place with Konnech, check out the Konnech Collection on open.ink.
  • Cleaning our voter rolls: Section 3 of this EO directs the Commissioner of Social Security to provide proper access to relevant information pertaining to voter rolls found in any Federal databases, including but not limited to the Death Master File. Not only will this allow states to (finally) have the ability to determine who has passed away and who is legally of age to vote, but they will also be able to see who is registered to vote as a non-citizen. Furthermore, access to these databases offer transparency regarding if a social security number is even valid at all.Now you might ask yourself: ok, but will the States comply? This Section also states that the Attorney General shall take appropriate action if States fail to properly maintain their rolls according to NVRA and HAVA standards. (By the way, Section 4 mentions an audit of HAVA fund expenditures.) Regarding State and voter compliance, Section 5 expands on prosecuting elections crimes in an effort to protect US citizens and our right to vote. If the rolls are properly maintained as outlined in Section 3, we certainly hope that prosecution would not be necessary, but this section also holds States accountable should they not cooperate with investigations. In short, they could lose grants or funding while also being subject to other ramifications should any Federal election laws be violated.
  • The Way Forward: From an established voter ID process, to securing paper ballots and tabulation processes, this Executive Order hits key elements that TTV published in The Way Forward. While states do have authority over their individual election methods and systems, it has been taken advantage of to the point of nearly revoking citizens’ fundamental rights to free and fair elections. This Fact Sheet is an easy read to better understand the principals President Trump is reestablishing.
  • And finally…DOGE: For this point, I’ll just quote Section 2 directly:The order states that “the Department of Homeland Security, in coordination with the DOGE Administrator, shall review each State’s publicly available records concerning voter list maintenance activities as required by 52 U.S.C. 20507, alongside Federal immigration databases and State records requested, including through subpoena where necessary and authorized by law, for consistency with Federal requirements.”Considering where we were about this time last year, this approach is the complete opposite from what we have seen prior administrations do in relation to full transparency and providing the opportunity to ultimately dispose of millions of ineligible records.

While there are more points in this Executive Order that we could get into, the above directly underscores True the Vote’s initiatives that you have helped advance. If not for you, citizens would have remained complacent and your voices would have fallen on deaf ears. You, however, rolled up your sleeves, stood beside us, put in the man hours, and in the 11th hour, we saw victory.

And we cannot thank you enough.

“But you, take courage! Do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded.” - 2 Chronicles 15:7
