HOUSTON, TX. – November 7, 2016: True the Vote (TTV), the nation's leading voters’ rights and election integrity organization, offers its smartphone app, VoteStand, to the general public and media outlets to report and gather election incidents in real-time.

"We developed VoteStand in response to requests from voters who’d experienced problems at the polls and felt helpless to do anything about it," True the Vote Founder Catherine Engelbrecht said. "True the Vote exists to help empower voters. With the VoteStand app if voters, poll workers, or election observers see something—they can say something. Our network of watchdogs and election officials can receive reports in real time and take appropriate action.”

VoteStand has been operational throughout much of the nation’s early voting periods and has already received scores of verified complaints ranging from voting machine malfunction, lax voter ID enforcement, absentee ballot problems and unlawful poll worker training. To date, reports from 24 states have been published within VoteStand, to include North Carolina, Florida, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Virginia, and Ohio.

The app is currently available for iPhone and Android mobile devices free of charge in their respective stores.

A Twitter account (@VoteStand) has been opened to promote new incidents and provide quick, multi-platform access to the latest data available.

Media outlets are welcome to contact True the Vote for more information about the application and specific reports by sending an email, here.
