MILWAUKEE, WI. – October 11, 2016: True the Vote (TTV), the nation's leading voters’ rights and election integrity organization, today released election observer training details for Wisconsin citizens interested in volunteering at the polls on November 8th.

“True the Vote is excited to announce election observer training opportunities throughout the Badger State,” True the Vote Founder Catherine Engelbrecht said. “TTV looks forward to helping engaged voters who are willing to roll up their sleeves and volunteer their time in support of free and fair elections.”

Election observer trainings will be hosted across Milwaukee, Madison and Green Bay. Online courses have also been made available.

“I’m proud to be assisting TTV’s efforts to help more Wisconsin voters participate in the electoral process,” local election integrity advocate Kenneth Dragotta said. “If you’re new to the job of election observation, these trainings have been tailored just for you. It takes lots of volunteers keep the process running smoothly and we’re hopeful we’ll help inspire and equip thousands of people who’ll be willing to step up and serve. ”

“We say it repeatedly – your presence alone makes the bad actors aware that you’re watching,” local election integrity advocate Ardis Cerny added. “Wisconsin voters have an incredible opportunity to stand for free and fair elections in the polling place of their choice and serve as a concerned citizen, not on behalf of a candidate or party. Badger voters shouldn’t squander this opportunity to do good this November.”

The timing of the Wisconsin training opportunities closely coincides with the release of True the Vote’s smartphone app, VoteStand 2.0, now available for iPhone and Android device users. The app allows election observers and concerned citizens alike to report irregularities in real time to TTV and appropriate officials.
