|Minnesota||Ineligible felon voters (1,099)||2008-11||General||2010+||Ineligible felon voting||243||Minnesota Majority identified 1,099 ineligible felons who voted in the November 2008 U.S. Senate election, which was eventually decided by 312 votes, by comparing criminal records with voting rolls. Minnesota Majority took the information to prosecutors across the state. Many were not interested in pursuing the cases, but Minnesota law requires authorities to investigate such leads. As of 2012, 177 ineligible felon voters had been convicted of voting fraudulently in the Senate race, and another 66 were awaiting trial. Many of the ineligible felons avoided conviction by saying they didn't 'knowingly' vote unlawfully. While some ineligible felon voters registered in advance of the election and should have been flagged for challenge, the overwhelming majority who evaded detection used Election Day Registration, which currently has no mechanism to detect or prevent ineligible voters.||http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/york-when-1099-felons-vote-in-race-won-by-312-...||http://www.electionintegritywatch.com/documents/2011-Report-Voter-Fraud-Convicti...||http://www.mnvoters.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=266%3Amva-p...|

|New York||Election contest: Maribel Toure v. Betty Cross||2014-05||Hempstead school board||2015-06||Absentee/mail||Voter intimidation/coercion||The Hempstead school district was ordered to hold a new election for a contested seat held by incumbent board president Betty Cross and challenged by Maribel Toure, NY State Education Commissioner John B. King Jr. ruled after annulling that portion of the May 20, 2015 election. Challenger Touré accused Cross and her supporters of “fraudulent and improper activity” during the election, including “voter intimidation and voter fraud,” coercion and abuse of the absentee balloting process. Roger Tilles, who represented Long Island on the Board of Regents, said King had to throw out results for the contested seat because it was impossible to determine which of the absentee ballots cast for Cross and Touré were valid. Touré had 712 votes on election night, compared with Cross' 691. The next day, dozens of contested absentee ballots were included in the totals, putting Cross ahead by six votes, beating Touré 719 to 713.||New election ordered||http://www.newsday.com/long-island/education/king-orders-special-election-for-co...||http://www.examiner.com/article/state-orders-hempstead-school-board-race-annulle...|
