|New Jersey||Election contest: Fernando Gonzalez vs. Sergio Diaz||2014-11||Perth Amboy municipal||D||Election contest||Absentee/mail||Illegal assistance||A Superior Court judge threw out the November 2014 election results for a Perth Amboy City Council seat, ordering a new election after finding that the city's Democratic chairwoman took advantage of elderly nursing home residents. The judge threw out 13 ballots; the margin of victory was just 10 votes. Among the residents whose mail-in ballots were thrown out by Judge Heidi Currier was a blind man, a resident who couldn't recall either her address or having voted, and others who testified that Leslie Dominguez-Rodriguez coerced them into voting for her husband, a candidate for Board of Education.
