Connecticut Robin Moayed-Amini F 2008-11 Registration Fraud Ineligible district voting 1 A complaint was brought a complaint against Robin Moayed-Amini by someone who said Moayed-Amini fraudulently used her address to register to vote. A fraudulent registration was submitted, but it could not be proved that Moayed-Amini had submitted it, consequently, the Connecticut Elections Enforcement Commission investigation concluded that the matter should be dismissed. Texas Lorenzo Antonio Almanza, Jr. Reyna Almanza M 2009-05 Progreso school board In person Impersonation Multiple voting 2 1 Lorenzo Antonio Almanza, Jr. pleaded* guilty to voter impersonation and voting twice in the 2009 Progreso school board election, once in his own name, and again hours later by impersonating his incarcerated brother, Orlando Almanza, to vote a second time. His mother, Reyna Almanza, was also convicted for enabling his fraud by vouching for him. Washington Dennine Robertson F 1 Records received from Snohomish County Washington did not indicate the specific accusation. From a list of almost 200 voter fraud cases that occurred since June 2007, only one person was charged. West Virginia Ernest J. Stapleton (former commander of a Veterans of Foreign Wars post) M Ernest J. Stapleton was indicted with others for a conspiracy to control county government in Lincoln County by buying votes, keeping some supporters’ property taxes low, controlling county and state government jobs and rewarding supporters by ensuring their roads were repaired. Ohio John Jackson M 2000-11 Presidential R Absentee Ballot Fraud 6 John Jackson, a Republican member of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections was charged with five counts of tampering with ballots, and one count of misconduct of an employee of the board of elections. Jackson was accused of changing residents' votes when he went to assist nursing home residents vote. The Supreme Court ruled that unsealed secret ballots could be used as evidence against him, but the case was ultimately dismissed because of the death of the witness. Kentucky Larry Shepherd Gary “Rooster” Risner Tami Jo Risner Mason Daniels Scott McCarty M 2014 Primary, General D Vote buying Larry Shepherd, chief deputy Magoffin County court clerk, was convicted in federal court of conspiring to buy votes in the 2014 primary and general elections, along with county magistrate Gary “Rooster” Risner and his wife Tami Jo Risner. Co-defendant Scotty L. McCarty pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor vote-fraud charge and gave information to authorities. Unindicted co-conspirator Charles “Doc” Hardin allegedly put up money for vote buying in multiple elections from 2008 to 2014.
