Arkansas Louise Fields (city council member) F 2010-11 General 2011-03 Absentee/Mail Illegal assistance 2 Fields, a member of the Forrest City Council, was arrested March 8, 2011 for alleged absentee ballot fraud. She was charged with possession of absentee ballots with intent to defraud, a Class D felony, and unlawful assistance to voters, a Class A misdemeanor. Statutes indicate a person may not assist more than 6 voters or be in possession of more than 10 ballots. The prosecution filed an order nolle prosequi in February 2014 and the case was dismissed. Ohio Rebecca Hammonds Ohio Organizing Collaborative F 2015 2016-05 Registration fraud Forgery 35 0 Rebecca Hammonds was indicted on 35 felony voter fraud charges - 32 counts of false voter registration and three counts of false signatures - as part of a scheme to create false voter registration documents for 35 people in Columbiana County in 2015. Washington Dennine Robertson F 1 Records received from Snohomish County Washington did not indicate the specific accusation. From a list of almost 200 voter fraud cases that occurred since June 2007, only one person was charged. West Virginia Ernest J. Stapleton (former commander of a Veterans of Foreign Wars post) M Ernest J. Stapleton was indicted with others for a conspiracy to control county government in Lincoln County by buying votes, keeping some supporters’ property taxes low, controlling county and state government jobs and rewarding supporters by ensuring their roads were repaired. Indiana Tonya Bronaugh F 2003 East Chicago Democratic mayoral primary D Impersonation Forgery 4 1 Tonya Bronaugh was charged as part of a fraud case brought by the Lake County Joint Voter Task Force that ultimately overturned the result of the 2003 East Chicago Democratic mayoral primary. Charged with 2 counts forgery, 1 count of voting in false name, 1 count conspiracy to vote in another’s name. Pleaded guilty to voting in false name, a felony, other charges dismissed. 18 months of probation
Texas Estela Cruz Saenz F 2006 Primary Absentee/Mail Forgery 7 7 Estela Cruz Saena was charged with seven counts of absentee ballot fraud for knowingly providing false information on ballot applications (TEC 84.0041) in the 2006 primary election.
