|Connecticut||Richard Hofer||M||Ineligible district voting||Richard Hofer voted twice in the town of Sherman, a town where he wasn't a resident. He voted once based on being on the tax records for the two properties he owned, and after discussing it with a local elections official, voted again in the name of his family's limited liability partnership. The State of Connecticut State Elections Enforcement Commission determined that Hofer wasn't trying to fraudulently vote, and made an honest mistake. Mr. Hofer wasn't penalized.|
|California||Angel Perales||M||2007 2009||Absentee/Mail||Ballot tampering||20||Angel Perales pleaded* guilty to voter fraud in Cudahy's 2007 and 2009 elections, admitting to tampering with mail-in ballots in city elections by resealing and submitting votes for incumbent candidates and discarding votes for challengers. The exact number of ballots tampered with is not known, but all mail ballots for both elections were "routinely and systematically opened". Perales also helped voters from outside the district illegally register to vote at an address at which they did not reside.
