Tennessee Jo Ann Cronan F 2014-08 General 2014-10 Vote buying 6 6 Jo Ann Cronan was indicted on six counts of voter fraud related to the August 2014 general election in Polk County, Tennessee. District Attorney General Stephen D. Crump charged Cronan with paying individuals for their vote in violation of state law. Texas Johnn Alaniz Juan Peña Juan Jose Garza M 2014-11 La Joya ISD school board 2014-11 Absentee/mail Illegal assistance Impersonation Johnn Alaniz, Juan Peña, and Juan Jose Garza were charged with bribing postal workers and illegally manipulating voters during their November 2014 re-election campaign to the La Joya ISD school board. The three, who ran as a slate, were accused of buying lists of mail-in voters from two U.S. postal workers in Mission in July, which they used to visit voters’ homes and either assist them in filling out the ballots or fill them out without the voters’ consent. Texas Election contest: Brian Black v. John Hegemier 2014-11 Bandera municipal 2014-11 Election contest Ineligible district voting Absentee/mail Candidate Brian Black challenged the results of the November 2014 mayoral election, which his opponent John Hegemier won by just 6 votes, 117 to 111, alleging that people who lived outside the city limits voted in the election and that mail ballots were illegally hand-delivered to voters in a rehabilitation center. Black's campaign manager also alleged that a specific poll worker, Rilla Stevens, tampered with the election between Oct. 20 and 31, during early voting, to ensure Hegemier’s win by electioneering whilw working at the polls. Bandera County Elections Administrator Toba Perez-Wright claimed that as a voter registrar, she cannot challenge someone’s residency. Mississippi Vaughn Gray Jr. 2013 Hattiesburg mayoral 2014-12 Ineligible felon voting 1 1 Vaughn Gray, Jr. was charged with voting by an unqualified person for illegally voting in the 2013 Hattiesburg mayoral election. Gray was convicted of grand larceny prior to casting his ballot in 2013, which disenfranchised his vote due to the felony charge. Mississippi Mamie Johnson 2013 Hattiesburg mayoral 2014-12 Ineligible district voting 1 1 Mamie Johnson was indicted and charged with misdemeanor voting out of district of legal domicile. Johnson was one of seven charged with illegally voting in the 2013 Hattiesburg mayoral election. She received a six month suspended sentence and a $420.84 fine.
