Colorado John McCarthy M 2004-08 Forgery Registration Fraud Charged with forgery and procuring false registrations for nearly 50 voters. McCarthy was hired by a campaign finance company, Choose 2 Vote, to register new voters for a fee. He submitted forged registration applications. McCarthy entered a guilty plea and received a 3-year sentence tied to probation revocation and another case. Washington Jane Kay Balogh F 2007-08 Absentee Ballot Fraud Registration fraud 1 Jane Kay Balough was convicted of absentee ballot fraud after registering her dog to vote and using his paw print for a signature. She claimed she did it to "point out that the system is flawed" and that she considered herself a "whistle-blower." She was charged with making a false or misleading statement to a public servant. California Roderick Wright (former state senator) M 2007 Multiple D 2010-09 Ineligible district voting Registration fraud Perjury 8 5 Roderick Wright was convicted on 5 counts of fraudulent voting, 2 counts of perjury, and one count of filing a false declaration of candidacy for registering, voting, and filing for office at the address of an Inglewood property he owned but didn't reside at so he could run in what was then the 25th Senate District in 2008. Virginia James Alfred Halle M 2001-11 Ineligible Voting Registration Fraud 2 James Alfred Halle was charged with false statement/voter registration and unqualified person voting. Guilty. (Arlington County) http://www.documentcloud.org/documents/399943-virginia-fraud-cases.html
California Robert Mariette (campaign official) M 2005-11 2006-06 2006-11 2007-11 2008-02 2008-06 2008-11 2009-02 2010 Frauduent Voting Registration Fraud Perjury 13 8 Robert Mariette voted and held office in a district in which he did not reside. He cast votes and was on the board of directors in the Mountain Gate Community Services District, a district in which he did not reside. Mariette was charged with 13 counts. 8 counts of fraudulent voting, 2 counts of registration fraud, and 3 counts of perjury. He reportedly registered to vote using his girlfriend's address. He pleaded no contest to 1 count of fraudulent voting and 1 count of fraudulent registration. All other charges were dismissed. Michigan Dilsa Maria Saddler F 2008-11 General D 2012 Non-citizen voting Registration fraud 2 1 Dilsa Maria Saddler, who is not a U.S. citizen, was convicted of voter fraud for illegally signing a voter registration form and voting in the 2008 presidential election. Saddler was never asked to provide any proof of citizenship prior to registering or voting. The fraud was discovered when she applied for citizenship in 2012. Connecticut Alicia Primer F 2006-08 2006-09 2006-11 Democratic Primary (CT) Democratic Primary (MA) State (CT) D Multiple Voting Registration Fraud Ineligible District Voting 2 An investigation by the Connecticut State Elections Enforcement Commission determined that Primer voted in August 2006, September 2006 and November 2006 in Weston, Massachusetts and Groton, Connecticut, even though her primary residence was in Weston, Massachusetts. Primer's vote in the August 2006 race for state representative resulted in a tie. The tie was settled by a flip of a coin. Had Primer not voted, the tie would not have occurred. Based on the lack of a prior record and cooperation with investigators, the State of Connecticut State Elections Enforcement Commission didn't refer her case for criminal prosecution, even though it found she violated the law by registering to vote in Connecticut while registered in Massachusetts, and subsequently voting twice in Connecticut. $4,000 fine and ordered to follow state elections law. http://seec.ct.gov/e2casebase/data/fd/2007_227.pdf

Louisiana Election contest: Betty Blakes v. Juanita Woods 2016-04 Monroe municipal D 2016-04 Election contest Registration fraud - fake address, deceased Impersonation Betty Blakes filed challenged the results of the Monroe City Council District 3 runoff election in Ouachita Parish after falling short against Juanita Woods with 43% of the vote. Blakes alleged that voters used false addresses from deceased citizens and abandoned houses to illegally register and vote, and accused Woods of having election workers for her campaign working inside the voting polls, wearing t-shirts with the name Juanita Woods displayed and passing out campaign pamphlets. Both candidates are Democrats. On May 4, 2016, a judge ruled that Woods failed to present adequate proof that the voters she identified as ineligible were either not registered to vote in District 3 or did not live there at all. North Carolina Terrance O’Brian Cromwell M 2011 2012-03 Ineligible district voting Registration fraud - ineligible district 1 Terrance O’Brian Cromwell was charged with using a false address as his official residence when voting for Ahmed Sultan Laghari in the Ward 4 race.
