Ohio Unnamed Columbus County voter 2012-11 General Multiple voting 1 A Columbus County resident could face felony charges of voter fraud for casting a ballot twice in the November 2012 election. The Columbus County Board of Elections met in a special called meeting regarding a voter that officials believe may have cast absentee ballots at two different early voting, one-stop sites. Both ballots were cast under the same name and had identical addresses but the registrations had different dates of birth affiliated with them. One of the ballots was cast at the board of elections headquarters and then another absentee ballot cast at a different one-stop site the next morning. The case may be turned over to the district attorney and/or federal authorities but because it is considered a criminal investigation, County Attorney Mike Stephens advised elections officials in closed session. Stephens referred to the matter as a “duplicate registration” Thursday and was hesitant to make any further details public. Multiple name changes in the voter’s record and even a change in dates of birth contributed to the verification system not detecting the discrepancies, officials say. http://www.electionlawcenter.com/uncategorized/possible-voter-fraud-under-invest...
