New York Fran Knapp F 2007 Poughkeepie mayoral D 2013-07 Absentee/Mail Ballot tampering 96 Fran Knapp, former Dutchess County Democratic Elections Commissioner, pleaded* guilty to two misdemeanor charges of the unauthorized signing of a poll watcher’s certificate in 2012 and falsifying a treasurer’s report for her husband Fred Knapp’s 2007 Poughkeepsie mayoral campaign. Knapp faced 41 felony counts of misconduct by an elections official and 41 misdemeanor counts of official misconduct for allegedly changing the designated agent to receive absentee ballots of 41 individuals authorized to vote absentee in 2010. She also faced felony and misdemeanor charges for allegedly committing fraud in 2008 by falsely creating a certificate of substitution by a committee to fill vacancies. She additionally was charged with felony and misdemeanor counts of misconduct by an elections official, as well as official misconduct, for allegedly fraudulently signing a poll watcher’s certificate on behalf of Republican candidate Neil DiCarlo during a state Senate primary in September 2012. Smith was registered in two towns simultaneously since 1985 because he did not provide registrars with his prior voting address when he moved. Ohio Daniel "Tate" Hausman Amy Little Yolanda Hippensteele M 2008 General D Ineligible district voting Absentee/Mail 1 1 Daniel "Tate" Hausman (New York native, staff member for Vote Today Ohio, and out-of-state campaigner for Barak Obama) was one of several people who came to Franklin County, Ohio, registered to vote after 30 days and voted, eventhough he did not intend to remain a resident of the county and state. He and his co-defendants chose to vote in Ohio over their home states, because Ohio is a swing state and Obama was expected to easily win in their home states. Charged with a violation under Title 35 of Ohio Code, casting an absentee ballot despite not meeting residency requirement. Pleaded guilty. Wisconsin Lena Taylor (state Senator) Multiple ineligibe voters F 2011-04 Spring D Registration fraud Ineligible district voting Ineligible felon voting State senator Lena Taylor was investigated as an accessory to voter fraud after 36 individuals registered to vote at 1018 N. 35th St. in Milwaukee, a home owned by Taylor, which is adjacent to her law office and used by a non-profit as a group home. The property is only zoned for up to 8 residents in a group-home type setting. On April 5, 2011, 20 of the 36 voters registered at the address voted, and a total of 7 same day voter registrations were corroborated by the senator's mother, Lena J.
