Surber M 2004-05 Municipal D 2006-03 Absentee Ballot Fraud 4 Don Houston Estridge, a mail carrier, was involved with a group of 14 individuals in Wise County charged with a total of 269 alleged violations of conspiracy, tampering with absentee ballots and forgery. Charged with intercepting and diverting absentee ballots so they could be doctored with forged signatures and false statements then returned to the Wise County Voter Registrar's office as legitimate ballots. Bayne Cole 2015-11 Hazlehurst mayoral 2015-11 Election contest Vote buying/selling Ineligible district voting 2 A judge threw out Hazlehurst’s November 2015 mayoral election results due to voter fraud. Incumbent Mayor Jack Cole lost re-election by two votes to Bayne Stone and contested the election. Cole accused Stone and his supporters of paying voters to go to the polls and helping non-residents cast ballots. The judge's order said he believed the allegations of vote buying and other irregularities, including testimony from two voters who said Stone's son paid them off the street to go cast ballots. A new election was ordered. Ohio Chad Staton M Registration Fraud 10 Chad Staton admitted falsifying over 100 voter registration forms in exchange for crack cocaine, using names including Michael Jackson and Mary Poppins, according to the indictment. The person who paid him was associated with the NAACP National Voter Fund. Charged with 10 counts false registration.
