Iowa Unknown impersonator F 2012 Special Impersonation 1 Someone impersonated a Linn County woman and cast a fraudulent ballot in her name in a 2012 special election. That vote was counted. The woman who was impersonated later showed up at the polls and was given a provisional ballot. There was no way to identify the impersonator. Abutin died in 2006. Connecticut George Cabrera, Jr. (former candidate) M 2000-03 Democratic Town Council primary D Absentee/Mail George Cabrera, Jr. was one of several candidates vying for election to the Bridgeport Town Council. He participated in an absentee ballot mobilization effort with several other candidates. As part of his actions, he broke the law by being present when people filled out their ballots and then again when he took possession of the ballots for submission to election officials. Cabrera settled with the State of Connecticut State Elections Enforcement Commission in order to avoid litigation and additional expense.
