Minnesota Shawn Marie Kaarbo F 2012-11 General 2013-02 In person Ineligible felon voting Registration fraud 1 1 Shawn Marie Kaarbo (aka Shawn Marie Melton and Shawn Marie Strandberg), a convicted felon, pleaded* guilty to voting while ineligible in the November 2012 general election, while still on probation. Using Election Day Registration, Kaarbo voted at a polling place in Skelton Township, at which time she completed a voter registration application and signed a certification saying she was eligible to vote. when in fact her voting rights had not been restored.  Carlton County Auditor/Treasurer Paul Gassert said that because the voter's ineligiblity was discovered after the fact, there was no way to prevent the fraudulent vote from counting. Florida Election contest: Bruce Guyton v. Lynne Hubbard 2016-03 Riviera Beach municipal 2016-04 Election contest Ineligible district voting Registration fraud 3 Incumbent Bruce Guyton challenged the results of the March 2016 Riviera Beach City Council race that ended in a tie between him and Lynne Hubbard, claiming that three absentee ballots casts by relatives of Hubbard should be thrown out. Guyton says there is proof that Hubbard’s nephew and two brothers don’t live at her house, as listed in their voter registration. Hubbard won a scheduled runoff election in May 2017, ending the contest. Arizona Gina Thi Canova Peter Canova F 2008-11 General 2011-03 Multiple Voting Ineligible district voting Registration fraud 15 1 Gina Thi Canova and her husband Peter Canova were each convicted on a misdemeanor charge of attempted illegal voting for registering and voting twice in the November 2008 general election, in both Maricopa County, Arizona and Douglas County, Nevada. In 2010, Gina Canova voted in elections in both Arizona and Nevada. California Kevin Keegen Emidy M 2004 Forgery Petition Fraud Registration Fraud Kevin Keegen Emidy pleaded guilty to signing fictitious or forged name to petition and fraudulent completion of affidavit of registration. 3 years of probation, 312 days in jail and restitution
Colorado Kimberly Michelle Cason F 2004 D 2004 Forgery Perjury Registration Fraud 21 Kimberly Michelle Cason was accused of being part of the ACORN registration scandal. Cason was paid by the hour to register people to vote. By falsifying registration forms, members of ACORN could allegedly bill for hours that were not worked. Cason admitted to forging signatures for her friends to vote 40 times. She was charged with 15 counts forgery, 5 counts of procuring false registration and 1 count perjury. 19 counts were dismissed. Wisconsin Yadira Colon F 2008 2009 D 2009-11 Absentee/mail Ineligible district voting Petition fraud 4 1 Yadira Colón pleaded* no contest to two counts of election fraud for forging signatures on nomination papers for Pedro Colón, then a Democratic member of the Wisconsin Assembly from Milwaukee, in 2009. Colón, a Voces De La Frontera volunteer, was also charged with illegally registering to vote and casting an absentee ballot in Milwaukee in 2008, listing an address in the city when she in fact resided in Oshkosh at the time. Prosecutors agreed to drop two charges, and Colón pleaded no contest to two others. Circuit Judge Dennis Moroney sentenced Colón to the 16 days she already spent in jail for one count, and to six months - suspended - on the second, with the condition of a year's probation, which he allowed to be transferred to Florida. *Pea deal: 16 days in jail (time served), plus 6 months (suspended) and 1 year probation (transferred to Florida) http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/news/174211971.html
Indiana Ronald DeCastro (Police officer) M 2003 East Chicago Democratic mayoral primary D 2006 Ballot Fraud Ineligible district voting Perjury 5 1 Ronald DeCastro, a police officer, charged as part of a fraud case brought by the Lake County Joint Voter Task Force that ultimately overturned the result of the 2003 East Chicago Democratic mayoral primary. Charged with 1 count of fraudulent application for ballots, 1 count voting in other precinct, 2 counts perjury, 1 count of failure to cast or return a ballot in an authorized manner. Pleaded guilty to failure to cast or return ballot in authorized manner, a felony. Indiana Michael R. Marshall Christopher Marshall John Cook M 2010 Jeffersonville mayoral D 2011-10 Absentee/Mail Forgery Perjury 48 3 Michael Marshall pleaded* guilty to three felony voter fraud charges involving the improper execution of absentee ballot applications in the 2010 Jeffersonville mayoral election after being charged with 23 counts of voter fraud and 25 counts of forgery and perjury. Marshall admitted he forged absentee ballot applications to illegally obtain the ballots. Indiana Valerie McGowan F 2003 East Chicago Democratic mayoral primary D Absentee Ballot Fraud Ineligible district voting Perjury 4 Valerie McGowan was charged as part of a fraud case brought by the Lake County Joint Voter Task Force that ultimately overturned the result of the 2003 East Chicago Democratic mayoral primary. Charged with 1 count of fraudulent application for ballots, 1 count voting in other precinct, 2 counts perjury. Pleaded guilty to voting in other precinct, a felony. Other counts dismissed. 18 months probation
