Georgia Tommy Raney (former Jackson City Council Member) Debra Brown M 2007 Jackson municipal Absentee/Mail Illegal assistance 1 47 Tommy Raney, a candidate for the Jackson City Council, and his campaign worker, Debra Brown, pleaded* guilty to conspiracy to commit absentee ballot fraud for mishandling more than 40 absentee ballots in the 2007 Jackson City Council race. Raney had won the election by 27 votes. The inspector general determined Raney filled out two voter registration applications for electors; filled out and took possession of 48 absentee ballot applications for electors after they were signed; and filled in elector information on at least two absentee ballot envelopes for electors. Brown was found to have unlawfully "assisted numerous absentee electors" with voter registration applications and absentee ballots. *Plea deal: 2 years probation, $158,000 fine
Minnesota Antonio Vassel Brown M 2008-11 General 2011 Ineligible felon voting 1 Brown, who had been convicted of multiple felonies in multiple states, reportedly voted when his civil rights had not been restored.
New York Angela Gumbarevic (former candidate for sheriff) Heidi Bessette F 2010 Democratic Primary for Sheriff D 2011 Petition Fraud Angela Gumbarevic, a candidate for the 2010 Oneida County sheriff position, was accused of submitting false signatures in an attempt to have her name on the ballot. Eighteen forged signatures were discovered, and without those, Gumbarevic would have not been on the ballot for the primary. She did not win the race. She was charged with 2 felonies of Second-Degree Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument and First-Degree Offering a False Instrument for Filing. Pleaded guilty to Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Second Degree, which is a Class D Felony. 5 years of probation and 150 hours of community service
