Florida Sergio Robaina M 2012-08 Democratic primary D 2012 Absentee/Mail Illegal assistance 3 2 Sergio Robaina, uncle of former Hialeah Mayor Julio Robaina, pleaded* guilty to misdemeanor charges he illegally possessed absentee ballots. Robaino also faced two felony charges for filling out ballots against the wishes of two voters, one of them a woman with dementia. The felony portion of the case was hampered after the woman with dementia died, leaving only her reluctant adult son to testify against Robaina. 1 year probation, fines
Florida Gilda Oliveros (former Hialeah Gardens Mayor) F 1997 Hialeah Gardens municipal 2000 Registration fraud - ineligible district Voter intimidation/coercion 3 Hialeah Gardens Mayor Gilda Oliveros was convicted of 2 felonies and one misdemeanor for asking and assisting some of her employees to register to vote using a false residence, because they were not eligible to vote in city elections based on their actual address. 18 months probation, $481 fine Miami-Dade County Criminal Justice Case #13-2000-CF-000198-0001-XX.
Illinois Steveland Kidd M 2013-04 Municipal 2013-04 Absentee/Mail 2 2 Steveland Kidd of Cahokia was charged with two felony counts of violation of absentee ballots in St. Clair County. Case set for trial April 2016.
