Tennessee Election contest: Terry Roland v. Ophelia Ford 2005-09 Special - state Senate District 29 D Ineligible district voting Impersonation - deceased Forgery In Tennessee, a September 2005 special election for state Senate District 29 that was decided by only 13 votes led to the expulsion of the winner, Ophelia Ford, from the legislature after it was found that votes had been cast by individuals who were dead at the time of the election, felons whose voting rights had not been restored, voters whose residences were vacant lots, and voters who actually lived outside of the district. Investigator John Harvey found at least 43 voters who did not live in the district but had voted in the election. Three election workers in one precinct were convicted of 12 felonies for faking votes by making false entries on election documents and other misconduct, including forging the signatures of deceased voters on ballot forms and falsely certifying vote totals. Election overturned by state Senate https://books.google.com/books?id=90DYC6nfi9gC&pg=RA2-PA2020&lpg=RA2-PA2020&dq=t...
