From a list of almost 200 voter fraud cases that occurred since June 2007, only one person was charged. New York Clement Campana Anthony DiFiglio William McInerney Anthony Renna John Brown Clement Campana Gary Galuski Michael LoPorto Ed McDonough Kevin McGrath M 2009-09 Working Families Party Primary D Absentee/mail Clement Campana, Troy City Council President, was indicted on five felonies and one misdemeanor for his allegedly defrauding voters during the 2009 Working Families Party primary. Campana was charged with four felony counts of illegal voting, one felony count of falsifying business records in the first degree as well as one count of conspiracy to promote or prevent election, a misdemeanor. He pled* not guilty to all charges in front of Judge George Pulver. The indictment states that Campana worked with other Democrats to conspire to help candidates win the primary. Many of the allegations involve talking voters into accepting and signing absentee ballot applications, and then filling in the rest of the application with fraudulent information like why the voter couldn't vote and then filing them with the Board of Elections. Campana turned down a deal that would have required him to plead guilty to a misdemeanor and serve 60 days of house arrest, said his attorney E. Mississippi Lessadolla Sowers F 2007-08 Democratic primary D Absentee/mail Impersonation 31 10 Lessadolla Sowers, a Tunica County NAACP executive committee member, was found guilty of fraudulently casting 10 absentee ballots; 21 additional counts were dropped for various reasons. Sowers was found guilty of voting in the names of Carrie Collins, Walter Howard, Sheena Shelton, Alberta Pickett, Draper Cotton and Eddie Davis; and in the names of four dead persons: James L. Young, Dora Price, Dorothy Harris, and David Ross. Mississippi Bureau of Investigations officers seized ballot boxes from the Tunica County Courthouse the evening of the Aug. 7, 2007, primary elections. Seventeen absentee ballots pulled from sealed ballot boxes listed the Sowers' post office box address. Eight Tunica County residents testified at trial that they did not sign the applications or absentee ballots cast in their names and showing Sowers' P.O. box. A forensic scientist identified Sowers’ DNA on the inner seals of five envelopes containing absentee ballots. Washington Susan Risenhoover F 2008 General Absentee/Mail Impersonation 1 Susan Risenhoover was not registered to vote in the 2008 Presidential election, however, her son was. Risenhoover filled out her son’s ballot, forged his name and sent it to the Island County Auditor’s Office. Pleaded guilty to count 1, prohibitions relating to petitions or declarations. Kentucky Stephen Ray Thomason M 2009-02 Registration fraud - ineligible felon Thomason, a convicted felon, was allegedly wrongfully registered to vote from January, 1973 to January, 2009. Thomason reportedly was a convicted murderer, and surviving members of the victim's family brought his voter registration to the attention of the State Board of Elections in 2008. Charged with wrongful registration. Pleaded guilty. North Carolina Verna Roehm F 2012-11 General R Absentee/mail Impersonation - deceased 1 1 A North Carolina widow, 75-year-old Verna Roehm, was charged with felony voting fraud after she voted on behalf of her dead husband in the 2012 presidential election. The illegal absentee mail ballot was discovered during a regular audit by Union County election officials in 2014. When confronted about the vote, Roehm said it was her husband's last dying wish to vote on the Republican ticket, but he died a few months before he was able.
