Illinois Parvin Vakili Mahmoud Vakili F Multiple 2011-9 Non-citizen voting Registration fraud - ineligible non-citizen 2 7 Parvin Vakili and her husband Mahmoud Vakili were charged with perjury of the election code and mutilation of election material. The couple, who were both born in Iran, were not U.S. citizens. According to the Lake County Clerk's office, Mahmoud Vakili first registered to vote in Lake County in 1988 and Parvin Vakili in 1992. Since then, Mahmoud voted five times and Parvin seven times, most recently in 2010. Neal, Jr. M 2000-06 Republican primary R 2000-06 Vote buying Absentee/Mail Conspiracy 2 1 Eight Alabamans were convicted on federal and state charges of vote buying and absentee ballot fraud in Winston County in the June 2000 Republican primary. All eight entered guilty pleas, admitting their roles in the voter fraud conspiracy that involved using cash, beer and liquor to buy votes. Scotty Cole pleaded* guilty to one federal count of conspiracy to commit vote buying and one state felony count of illegal absentee voting. Ohio Melowese Richardson (poll worker) F 2009 2011 2012 General D Absentee/Mail Impersonation Multiple voting 8 5 Melowese Richardson pleaded no contest to four counts of illegal voting in 2009, 2011 and 2012. One count charged her with voting for her sister, who is in a coma. Four other counts were dropped in exchange for Richardson's plea. Hamilton County Judge Robert P. New Hampshire Gregory R. Deperey M 2010-11 General Registration Fraud Ineligible district voting The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office investigated Gregory R. Deperey because he reportedly registered and voted for the first time on Election Day without photo identification, and the United States Post Office returned a verification letter sent to his address as undeliverable. His identity was later verified, according to a New Hampshire Attorney General's Office investigation. Ohio Ohio Organizing Collaborative 2015 Registration fraud Forgery In October 2015, the Ohio Secretary of State's office received reports from county boards of elections about suspicious voter registration forms submitted by employees of the Ohio Organizing Collaborative. Boards have described significant irregularities among the applications, including voter registration forms from persons who are deceased, voter registration forms with multiple names, address or identification mismatches, and voter registration update forms that appear to have been signed by someone other than the voter. From a list of almost 200 voter fraud cases that occurred since June 2007, only one person was charged.
