Ohio Unnamed Lorain County voter M 2012-11 General Multiple voting 1 The Lorain County Board of Elections is investigating a Henrietta Township man who cast two ballots during the 2012 presidential election. The man requested an absentee ballot on Oct. 23, and the ballot was returned to the elections board Nov. 3. The man then voted at his polling place Nov. 6. Elections board Director Paul Adams said the voting book at the polling location indicated that he already cast an absentee ballot but he was allowed to sign the book over where it said “absentee sent.” The presiding judge at the polling place told elections officials that she did not recall what happened with the voter, but Adams said her conduct also is under review. Elections board members said that they think the issue should be investigated and likely turned over to prosecutors. “Here we have an example of a person who clearly voted twice,” elections board member Anthony Giardini said http://chronicle.northcoastnow.com/2012/11/21/henrietta-township-man-accused-of-...
Ohio Election contest: Dennis Flores v. Ryan Horn 2015-05 Democratic primary D 2015-07 Registration fraud Ineligible district voting Vote buying The integrity of the election process was compromised during the May Democratic primary contest that saw Lorain City Councilman Dennis Flores lose his re-election bid in the 2nd Ward race to challenger Ryan Horn by one vote, Flores’ attorney said during opening statements Tuesday in a trial that could overturn those results. The allegations include false registration, bribery, illegal voting, inducing illegal voting and making false signatures. Attorney Gerald Phillips told county Common Pleas Judge Mark Betleski that the “substantial irregularities” don’t appear to have come from how the county Board of Elections ran the election. Instead, Phillips argued, “a number of electors unlawfully, illegally voted for Mr. Horn.” Effectively, Horn’s father, bail bondsman Tony Horn, “bought the election, he rigged the election in favor of his son,” Phillips said. On the night of the election, Flores was in the lead by a vote of 151 to 131, according to unofficial elections results, but when provisional ballots were counted, Horn pulled ahead with a total of 153 votes to 152 votes for Flores. A third candidate in the race, Joseph Smith, received a total of 100 votes… Phillips and Flores have raised questions about whether several people who cast ballots in the race actually lived where they claimed to live and whether those people claimed addresses owned by Tony Horn or his associates. http://www.morningjournal.com/general-news/20150707/lawyers-spar-over-lorains-wa... http://chronicle.northcoastnow.com/2015/07/08/lorain-council-election-suit-put-o...
