From a list of almost 200 voter fraud cases that occurred since June 2007, only one person was charged. Maryland Paul Schurick M 2010 R 2011 Voter intimidation/coercion 6 Campaign manager to incumbent Republican Maryland governor Robert Ehrlich, accused of approving a misleading robocall to suppress the African-American vote in in the 2010 election, which Ehrlich ultimately lost. Charged with 3 counts conspiracy to violate election laws, 1 count election fraud, 1 count authority line violation, and 1 count obstruction of justice. Minnesota John Robert Albertson M 2008-11 General 2011-11 Ineligible felon voting 1 1 John Robert Albertson was charged with voting while ineligible in the November 2008 general election. Albertson had been convicted and sentenced for the felony offense of theft. He was placed on probation. As a condition of the probation agreement, he did not have the right to vote while on felony probation. Records from the Dakota County Auditor's office indicate that he voted Nov. 4, 2008 - at a time when he was still on probation. Tennessee Kermit Bowling M Registration Fraud 4 Kermit Bowling was charged with two counts of illegal registration or voting and two counts of false entries as a result of being registered to vote in two states at the same time. He was 81 years old at the time and blamed his age for the dual registration. A no true bill was entered by the grand jury. New York Angela Gumbarevic (former candidate for sheriff) Heidi Bessette F 2010 Democratic Primary for Sheriff D 2011 Petition Fraud Angela Gumbarevic, a candidate for the 2010 Oneida County sheriff position, was accused of submitting false signatures in an attempt to have her name on the ballot. Eighteen forged signatures were discovered, and without those, Gumbarevic would have not been on the ballot for the primary. She did not win the race. She was charged with 2 felonies of Second-Degree Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument and First-Degree Offering a False Instrument for Filing.
