Minnesota Amina A Hassan F 2012-11 General 2013-06 Multiple voting In person 1 1 Amina A Hassan and Farhiya Abdi Dool were each charged with one felony count of voter fraud for voting twice in the 2012 general election, once by absentee ballot and again at a polling place. Dool and Hassan registered to vote at the Rice County Auditor’s Office on Nov. 5, 2012, and voted by absentee ballot that day. They each completed another voter registration application the next day, Election Day, at their polling location, signed the roster of new registrants, and voted again. The Somali immigrants told Rice County investigators that they did not intend to register and vote twice. Hassan said she had asked at the polling location if it was a problem if she had just voted but that a woman told her it was “no problem.” Rice County Auditor Fran Windschitl said there are procedures in place to prevent people from receiving a ballot on Election Day when they have already voted absentee, but the polls get hectic and it “must have been just an oversight” in Dool and Hassan’s instances. Each charge carries a penlty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. http://www.southernminn.com/faribault_daily_news/news/article_6731ef26-a9e0-5ab7... http://www.southernminn.com/faribault_daily_news/news/article_6c46275c-9aba-59cb...
