Texas Election contest: Al Edwards v. Borris Miles 2010-03 Democratic primary D 2010-03 Election contest Ineligible district voting Absentee/mail Challenger and former state Rep. Borris Miles won a recount by eight votes over incumbent Rep. Al Edwards, but Edwards has filed a lawsuit, alleging Miles was aided by voter fraud in the March 2, 2010 primary. The lawsuit, filed in Harris County District Court, claims that Miles, who officials had initially said won by 10 votes, benefitted from votes of people who “were not legally qualified and/or registered to vote for the following reasons: (i) the voter’s residence was outside of Harris County and/or District 146; (ii) the voter was fraudulently or improperly registered to vote or the voter’s registration had been cancelled: (iii) the voter was ineligible to vote because he or she was previously convicted of a felony: (iv) the voter did not properly complete an application for an early voting by mail ballot: and (v) early voting by mail ballots were cast that were procured by fraud or without the consent or knowledge of the actual voter.” Edwards asks that the court, after determining that illegal votes were cast, compel voters who cast illegal ballots to tell who they voted for. http://www.texaswatchdog.org/2010/03/-borris-miles-beats-al-edwards-by-8-votes-i...
