True the Vote — Same Mission, Bold New Initiative

Dear Friend,

From the beginning, True the Vote has stood on a foundation of unshakable First Principles—truths that have guided our every decision and will continue to do so as we launch our boldest initiative yet: Election Right to Try.

Here are the eight First Principles we stand by:

  1. Election Integrity Is a Constitutional Duty — Free and fair elections are the cornerstone of self-governance.
  2. Every Legal Vote Must Be Counted — No illegal vote should dilute the voice of a lawful voter.
  3. Transparency Is Non-Negotiable — The process must be open to observation, verification, and audit.
  4. Accountability at Every Level — Election officials must answer to the citizens they serve.
  5. Citizens Have the Right and Duty to Participate — Oversight is not optional in a constitutional republic.
  6. Technology Must Serve the People — Innovation should increase security, accessibility, and trust—not centralize control.
  7. The Law Should Protect Reform, Not Punish It — Political or legal intimidation must never stand in the way of progress.
  8. States Lead, the Federal Government Supports — Local control is key to protecting the integrity of elections.

We will be covering these principles—and how they shape our internal strategy—on our next True the Vote Insider Call, taking place the last week of August. On that call we will also be discussing a new, key initiative for TTV.

As you know, we have a unique window of opportunity, but that window is closing each day.

New secure election technologies are being strangled by bureaucracy, monopolies, and politically motivated lawsuits. We’ve seen this before—in healthcare.

In 2018, the Right to Try Act gave terminally ill patients access to life-saving treatments trapped in red tape. It brought hope, sparked innovation, and proved that courage and common sense can break through government paralysis. Now it’s time to bring that same courage to elections.

Our Election Right to Try framework would:

  • Create a protected sandbox for states to pilot secure election systems without fear of political sabotage.
  • Provide legal safeguards for qualified vendors who meet the highest security and transparency standards.
  • Reignite a competitive marketplace so states aren’t trapped with outdated, monopoly-run systems.
  • Put states and citizens—not unelected bureaucrats—in charge of restoring trust in our elections.

This is a plan, not a theory.

True the Vote is working to make it law, and your support is what makes it possible.

If we are serious about saving our elections, we must be bold enough to break the stranglehold of the status quo.

Ever onward —
