Hi Friend — You may have heard about our documentary, TRAPPED: Detroit. Today, we are excited to invite you to watch and share the trailer ... This project features Detroit citizens who were willing to look beneath the surface, ask difficult questions, and share what they were experiencing in their own neighborhoods. On paper, a voter record may appear routine. On the ground, the people, addresses, and circumstances can reveal a more complicated story. We know that data can identify a concern, but understanding it requires listening to and working with the people who live there. That is why we made TRAPPED: Detroit. At the heart of the film are Advocate Ramon Jackson and Pastor Lorenzo Sewell, two Detroit leaders doing shoe-leather advocacy work every day. They walk the neighborhoods, share their own stories, listen to residents, and address the poverty and neglect they see throughout their community. Their mission extends beyond identifying problems. They are working alongside Detroit families to break the cycle and build a more accountable and hopeful future. In the coming weeks, as we lead up to the online premiere, we will share more about Ramon, Pastor Lorenzo, and other courageous Detroit citizens whose willingness to open their doors, examine the information, and speak out demonstrates the power of citizen-led change. We salute the people of Detroit who opened their doors, examined the information, and dared to speak out. Their example shows the power of citizens who care enough to ask questions, seek answers, and work toward meaningful change. You — the supporters of True the Vote — helped make this film project possible. Thank you! Your support gives citizens like our friends in Detroit a platform and brings their experiences into the light. When people know their stories are being heard, it sends a powerful message: they are seen, their experiences matter, and they are not standing alone. By watching and sharing the trailer, you encourage the Detroit leaders and residents continuing this important work. This is a story about discovery, not predetermined conclusions. This documentary explores part of our mission which is to identify the concern, establish the facts, and help develop solutions that strengthen the system. We know that not every irregular record is evidence of fraud. However, every credible discrepancy deserves a clear answer. And we need solutions to protect every eligible voter and every lawful vote. In the weeks ahead, we will continue to share snippets of TRAPPED: Detroit and related material, all leading up to the online release of the documentary, along with an app that will provide practical information to help you review and protect your own voter record. Together, we can pursue the facts, address credible concerns, and help build an election system worthy of every citizen’s trust. Keep fighting the good fight. Keep the faith. Never quit. Ephesians 6 FTW! Ever onward — P.S. — We still need your help. We had a GREAT response to last week's request, THANK YOU! We are trying to encourage monthly recurring donations, which will help us to better and budget. If every person who opens this letter gives five dollars a month — or even once — we can stop triaging and start scaling, going into the future firing on all cylinders. Please do not assume somebody else will cover your share. The whole idea only works if it is all of us. And if you are already donating THANK YOU! Would you consider forwarding this to a friend and asking them to take a look, too? |
