Tracking State and County Actions on EO 14248

True the Vote has submitted 250 public records requests — one to every state and to the 200 largest counties in America — asking a single question every citizen deserves answered:

“What actions have you taken, or plan to take, to comply with President Trump’s Executive Order 14248 —‘Preserving and Protecting the Integrity of American Elections’?”

This Executive Order directs states to strengthen election systems through accurate voter rolls, citizenship verification, and secure ballot-handling procedures. While parts of the order face legal challenges, every election official should be working now to safeguard the process.

Track your state’s response here — and follow the path from Executive Order 14248 to on-the-ground action in your state.

Transparency: The Foundation of Trust

When a new Executive Order directs states to tighten election procedures — like verifying citizenship, cleaning voter rolls, and securing ballots — the public deserves to know what’s actually being done.

Through these open records requests, True the Vote is documenting accountability. These requests don’t assume wrongdoing — they simply ask for facts: what actions have been taken, what plans exist, and how officials are ensuring compliance.

If election offices are following the law, their records will show it. If not, citizens have a right to ask why. Open records are how the public stays informed, holds officials accountable, and strengthens confidence in our elections.

Inside Maine’s Ballot Mystery

In addition to the Executive Order records requests, True the Vote has also filed an Open Records Request in Maine after a resident opened an Amazon package and found bundles of blank absentee ballots.

The state’s election crimes unit, the FBI, and Amazon are investigating. Amazon says the package appeared to have been tampered with outside its system.

Ballots aren’t just paper — they’re the people’s voice. When chain of custody breaks, trust in elections breaks with it. We’re pressing for answers and will post every development.
